Doubt

If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts he shall end in certainties.

The key is to doubt received wisdom, untested assumptions and human tradition. The Scriptures give a source of eternal and infinite wisdom as a rule for all human speculations.
