Too Much Information (for creation to be chance)

August 3, 2009

The DNA code contained within a cell carries as much information as a library…a combination of one hundred elements (which is much simpler than a cell) could be formed by chance at the odds of 10^158 to 1 (whilst the total number of electrons in the universe is 10^80); even with a billion attempts per second, it would need billions and billions times more
time than the billions of years it took the cosmos to form. (The Big Bang theory holds that the universe has been expanding for 13 billion years. Our planet is generally given 4.5 billion years, its most ancient rocks up to 3.5 billion years.)
