Islam – the mere word of Muhammed

September 1, 2009

Aquinas says Christianity is a rational belief, not Islam, because the latter expects its supernatural revelation to be accepted on the mere word of Muhammed. Whereas Jesus did not expect men to be so credulous and gave signs authenticating his claims.

Self-Contradictions of Mormonism

August 26, 2009

Now hear it, 0 inhabitants of the earth, Jew and Gentile, saint and sinner! When our father Adam came into the Garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world. He is Michael, the Archangel, the Ancient of Days, about whom holy men have written and spoken-He is our father and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do.

Brigham Young, 2nd Church President (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 50).

But Bruce McConkie, Mormon Apostle said (1st June, 1980)

There are those who believe or say they believe that Adam is our father and our god, that he is the father of our spirits and our bodies, and that he is the one we worship.

The devil keeps this heresy alive as a means of obtaining converts to cultism. It is contrary to the whole plan of salvation set forth in the scriptures, and anyone who has read the Book of Moses, and anyone who has received the temple endowment, has no excuse whatever for being led astray by it. Those who are so ensnared reject the living prophet and close their ears to the apostles of their day.

In other words, Mormon doctrine is changing and contradicts itself. Rather like the New light teaching of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, false prophets have to exaplin away previous revelations that contradict what the organisation is curently propogating. The long-term member must engage in what Orwell called double-think to maintain belief in an infallible prophetic office – whether Mormon or Watchtower

False Prophecy

August 19, 2009

From now until the year 2000, a series of violent phenomena filled with fear that are too difficult to describe will occur. Japan will turn into wasteland as a result of a nuclear weapons attack. This will occur from 1996 through January 1998. An alliance centering on the United States will attack Japan. In large cities in Japan, only one-tenth of the population will be able to survive. Nine out of ten people will die.

Shoko Asahara (Supreme Master), Aum Shinrikyo, 1993

Led by its increasingly power-crazed and deluded guru – Asahara now claimed to be Christ and the Lord Buddha – Aum span out of control. Followers were starved, doped with LSD and forced to undergo bizarre initiations. The cult’s enemies were murdered and incinerated in purpose-built microwave ovens. The madness culminated in a rush-hour assault on Tokyo’s subway, an attempt to halt a police investigation into the cult.

Danger of false prophets

August 19, 2009

David Koresh planned for his heavily armed cult to attack and kill citizens in Waco, Tex., according to the Government report on the failed raid by Treasury agents on the sect’s compound.

“You can’t die for God if you can’t kill for God,” Mr. Koresh told his followers, said the Treasury Department’s review of the botched raid on Feb. 28.

New York Times

Some former members of Koresh’s group alleged that he practiced polygamy with underage brides, physically abused children, and stockpiled illegal weapons

The high cost of false prophecy

The 914 people who died in the Jonestown suicide included 200 babies and children who had the Kool-Aid/Valium/Cyanide mixture squitred down their throats. Many adults had it poured down their throats, some willingly, some not. Others who tried to hide were tracked down and shot by armed guards. Some of the 1,110 people in Jonestown escaped into the Guyana jungle. Jones himself died from a single gunshot wound to the head. All this after Congressman Leo ryan, 3 media representatives and a Jonestown defector had been shot down on the airport strip at Port Kaituma. The Congressman…was leaving the very day of the mass suicide, 8th November, 1978

Consequences of False Doctrine

August 19, 2009

Robert deGrimston founded The Process in 1962 while practising Scientology. In October of 1967…Robert DeGrimston…wrote a book called As It Is. On the front page is this:

Christ said: Love thine enemy. Christ’s Enemy was Satan and Satan’s Enemy was Christ. Through love, enmity is destroyed. Through love, saint and sinner destroy the enmity between them. Through love, Christ and Satan have destroyed their enmity and come together for the End. Christ to judge, Satan to execute the judgment.

One of the major ideas that (Charles) Manson gleaned from The Process was that Jesus and Satan were one and the same and the worship of Satan was necessary in escaping the doomsday notion shared by both groups.

Both deGrimston and Manson believed they were the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

Joseph Smith, False Prophet

August 19, 2009

In (Joseph Smith’s) diary entry for 1843 we find: “I prophesy in the name of the Lord God, and let it be written, that the Son of Man shall not come in the clouds until I am 85 years of age, 48 years hense, or about 1890.” (The Revelations of Joseph Smith, p.345)

in Mormonism, A Gold-Plated Religion, Mike and Ann Thomas, Alpha, p.84

When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

Faith in a False Messiah

Speaking of the terror unleashed by Stalin including his ‘Show Trials’ Montefiore explains who was to suffer: ‘Those without blind faith (in Stalin) were to die.’

In Moscow, 200,000 people, bedazzled by propaganda, massed in Red Square, despite temperatures of -27°C (at the time of the treason trial of Grigory Pyatakov and Karl Radek in January 1937), bearing banners that read, ‘The court’s verdict is (i.e. the ‘Show Trials’) is the people’s verdict. Krushchev addressed them denouncing the ‘Judas-Trotsky’, a line that strongly implied that Stalin was the metaphorical Jesus. (We know from Yury Zhdanov that he jokingly compared himself to Jesus)

“By lifting their hands against comrade Stalin they lifted them against all the best that humanity possesses. For Stalin is hope; he is expectation; he is the beacon that guides all progressive mankind. Stalin is our banner! Stalin is our will! Stalin is our victory!” The country was swept by the ‘eotional effervescence of hatred, fear and blood-lust.

Sincere Faith

…there is something mystical, inexpressible, almost incomprehensible, which this unique man (Hitler) possesses, and he who cannot feel it instinctively will not be able to grasp it at all. We love Adolf Hitler, because we believe deeply and unswervingly that God has sent him to us to save Germany.

from a speech by Hermann Goring, reported in F. L. Schuman, The Nazi Dictatorship, New York: Knopf, 1935, 122.
