Our Lord’s true Church is established and founded upon revelation. Its identity as the true Church continues as long as revelation is received to direct its affairs

October 3, 2009

Our Lord’s true Church is established and founded upon revelation. Its identity as the true Church continues as long as revelation is received to direct its affairs…. without revelation there would be no legal administrators to perform the ordinances of salvation with binding effect on earth and in heaven…. Since The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s true Church; and since the Lord’s Church must be guided by continuous revelation if it is to maintain divine approval;… we could safely conclude… that the Church today is guided by revelation…. the Spirit is giving direct and daily revelation to the presiding Brethren in the administration of the affairs of the Church…. The presence of revelation in the Church is positive proof that it is the kingdom of God on earth…. For those who reject these revelations there awaits the damnation of hell.

Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 1979, pages 646, 647 and 650

1. The LDS (Mormons) claim to be the ‘true church’ – all others are apostate (NB Joseph Smith’s claim that the angel told him this)

2. Its denial of Sola Scriptura and the belief in ongoing revelation through ‘the presiding Brethren’ of the LDS.

3. Any denial of the extraordinary claims of the LDS is to face eternal damnation (cf. the claims of Romanism at the Council of Trent where it pronounces anathaemas on those who hold to the Scriptural teaching of justification by grace through faith alone).

Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race?

September 23, 2009

Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be.

Brigham Young, second President and Prophet, Journal of Discourses, 10:110.

So is this God’s revelation through the ongoing prophetic office today?

The one true God says, ‘Then Peter open his mouth, and said, “Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”‘ Acts 10:34

Negroes in this life are denied the Priesthood

September 23, 2009

Negroes in this life are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty… The gospel message of salvation is not carried affirmatively to them. Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concerned. . . .

LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, 477, 527-28; 1966 orig. ed., changed in the current.

By 1978 this doctrine had, like polygamy, changed. This doctrine is rooted in LDS Scripture (at least the earlier versions until they too were changed). More on LDS racism

Antichrists deny Joseph Smith says Brigham Young

September 11, 2009

I will now give my scripture: `Whosoever confesseth that Joseph Smith was sent of God to reveal the holy Gospel to the children of men, and lay the foundation for gathering Israel, and building up the kingdom of God on the earth, that spirit is of God; and every spirit that does not confess that God has sent Joseph Smith, and revealed the everlasting Gospel and through him, is of Antichrist’

Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 176

Joseph Smith holds the keys – says Brigham Young

September 11, 2009

Joseph Smith holds the keys of this last dispensation, and is now engaged behind the vail in the great work of the last days…no man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith. From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are–I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent. He holds the keys of that kingdom for the last dispensation–the keys to rule in the spirit-world; and he rules there triumphantly, for he gained full power and a glorious victory over the power of Satan while he was yet in the flesh, and was a martyr to his religion and to the name of Christ, which gives him a most perfect victory in the spirit-world. He reigns there as supreme a being in his sphere, capacity, and calling, as God does in heaven. Many will exclaim–‘Oh, that is very disagreeable! It is preposterous! We cannot bear the thought!’ But it is true.

Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, volume 7, 289 (9 October 1859)

It’s not just ‘very disagreeable’ and ‘preposterous’ – it’s blasphemous. John 14.6 says Christ is the way. “I am the door of the sheep.” says the Lord Jesus in John 10.7 – he didn’t mention another one who would bar the way once through Christ the door.

And thus, for this dispensation of grace, we come to Joseph Smith. He was called of God to reveal anew the doctrines of salvation. He was called of God to stand as the Lord’s legal administrator, dispensing salvation to all men — repeat: all men — in the last days. Christ is the True Vine; Joseph Smith is the chief branch for our day.

Self-Contradictions of Mormonism

August 26, 2009

Now hear it, 0 inhabitants of the earth, Jew and Gentile, saint and sinner! When our father Adam came into the Garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world. He is Michael, the Archangel, the Ancient of Days, about whom holy men have written and spoken-He is our father and our God, and the only God with whom we have to do.

Brigham Young, 2nd Church President (Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 50).

But Bruce McConkie, Mormon Apostle said (1st June, 1980)

There are those who believe or say they believe that Adam is our father and our god, that he is the father of our spirits and our bodies, and that he is the one we worship.

The devil keeps this heresy alive as a means of obtaining converts to cultism. It is contrary to the whole plan of salvation set forth in the scriptures, and anyone who has read the Book of Moses, and anyone who has received the temple endowment, has no excuse whatever for being led astray by it. Those who are so ensnared reject the living prophet and close their ears to the apostles of their day.

In other words, Mormon doctrine is changing and contradicts itself. Rather like the New light teaching of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, false prophets have to exaplin away previous revelations that contradict what the organisation is curently propogating. The long-term member must engage in what Orwell called double-think to maintain belief in an infallible prophetic office – whether Mormon or Watchtower
